THE IMPORTANCE OF CPR AND AED BY ROTARIAN KHO

2 Mar 2023

The meeting was delightful along the way to network with St Jo International Interact Club's teacher in charge, Ms Priscilla and 5 student leaders as well as other rotarians. The teacher in charge shared some ideas and their plan for upcoming projects of their interact club.

For vocational talk, our fellow Rotarian Kho who is a First Aid Trainer (SJAS) was kind to share with us with the importance of CPR and AED. He also demonstrated to us on how to perform CPR.

CPR - a lifesaving technique used in emergency situations when a person's breathing or heartbeat has stopped. CPR involves a combination of chest compressions and rescue breaths to keep blood flowing and oxygen circulating throughout the body until medical help arrives.

AED - automated external defibrillator, is a portable electronic device used to diagnose and treat life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias, such as ventricular fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia. AEDs work by delivering an electric shock to the heart to restore its normal rhythm. AEDs are commonly found in public places, such as airports, shopping malls, and sports arenas, and can be used by anyone, with or without medical training, to save the life of someone experiencing a cardiac emergency.

Last but not least, we had fellowship session too with the celebration of Feb & Mar birthday Rotarians!
